Hi, I'm Emily, and here is some stuff about me.
It's a cliche, but darn-it-all, I picked up my mom's Canon AE-1 35mm camera when I was a kid! And I flipped through the black and white photos she had printed when she was in school. This is when I became smitten with photography. I started enrolling in photo classes in high school, which led to Art Photography becoming my major at Arizona State University. This was, of course, back in the good ol’ days of film and darkrooms, safe lights and stop bath. I have chemical-soaked, happy memories of rocking developer trays, squinting at emerging images, and listening to Alanis Morissette and Jewel on CD.
My student background was in art photography: creating themes, developing ideas, and presenting in galleries. Whenever I have the chance, l enjoy participating in gallery exhibitions, especially when my subject matter is a recent globe-trek (my other passion).
Today my workhorse tools are a Nikon D600 and an iMac, and my musical accompaniment is Regina Spektor and Kishi Bashi, but the love of the game is the same.
I am located in Mesa, Arizona, and photograph within the entire Phoenix metro area. But . . . if you want me to travel . . . I've been know to do that, from time to time.
